Dr. Robert A. Herbstman is one of the preeminent plastic surgeons in the field today. Dr. Herbstman is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester, College of Arts and Sciences and received his medical degree in 1982 from the University of Rochester, School of Medicine. Dr. Herbstman completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was Chief Resident. Following his General Surgery training he completed his Plastic Surgery residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School University Hospital.

In addition to providing residents of Central and Northern New Jersey with exceptional plastic surgery, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Herbstman holds a faculty position as Clinical Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Herbstman is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of several prestigious professional organizations including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons. Recently, he was certified as a facility inspector for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities.
